There are several project milestones required before the Terminal will be operational.  

2022

  • Project announced

2023

  • EES commenced

2024

  • Draft EES scoping requirements exhibited

2025

  • Updated EES scoping requirements exhibited
  • Updated EPBC referral submitted
  • EPBC decision (Controlled Action)
  • Final EES scoping requirements issued

2026

  • Preparing EES for exhibition
  • $124.5 million in project funding from the State Government

2027

  • EES submitted*
  • Public exhibition period*
  • Minister's assessment of project*
  • Project approval* (Subject to Minister's decision)

Subject to approval

  • Terminal construction* (approximately 3 years)
  • Terminal operation*
